Child Care Subsidy at Applecross Pre-Kindy and Childcare

Nurturing the Changemakers and Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow

Applecross Pre-Kindy and Childcare is an approved Child Care Subsidy provider, so eligible families have the subsidy paid straight to the centre and taken off their fee before invoicing. Fees cover the full day, 7am to 5:30pm. Contact us on (08) 6113 1442 for current rates.

How our fees work

Our fees are designed to give families flexibility while ensuring children receive high‑quality care, nourishing food, and a learning environment that supports their growing minds and bodies.

Daily Fees

We offer two types of daily sessions:

  • $157 per day — BYO Meals Families provide their child’s lunchbox and snacks for the day.

  • $171 per day — Café‑Prepared Meals Included Children receive a nutritious lunchbox prepared fresh each morning by our local partner café, Sensations. We have a long-standing relationship with the café and have worked closely with their team to refine a menu that is both delicious and nutrient‑dense. Meals rotate seasonally and include options such as warming tomato and vegetable pastas, wholemeal chicken and salad sandwiches, chicken and avocado rice paper rolls, corn and zucchini fritters, and healthy meat-and-salad wraps. Each lunchbox includes fresh fruit and vegetable sticks. Vegetarian options are always available.

Enrolment Fees

$80 enrolment fee: This includes a school bag, hat, shirt, and lunchbox.

$200 refundable deposit: This deposit secures your child’s place, especially when joining our waitlist. It is credited back to your account once your child attends their first day of learning and play.

What Parents Need to Provide

To ensure your child is comfortable and well-prepared each day, please pack:

  • Personal sunscreen- we provide a standard kids sunscreen

  • A full change of clothes

  • Nappies (if required)

  • Any medications with the appropriate documentation

  • A lunchbox and snacks only if you are choosing the BYO meal option

Flexibility for Families

We understand that paying fees for days your child does not attend can place extra pressure on families. To support our community, we offer flexibility around public holidays, family holidays, and time taken over the December/January festive period.

Families are also covered by 42 allowable absences per financial year under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), where your CCS entitlement continues to be applied. This helps reduce out‑of‑pocket costs during periods of illness, holidays, or unexpected time away.

Our Food Vision

As part of our commitment to health, wellbeing, and connected care, we are currently upgrading one of our centre kitchens so we can begin preparing meals onsite. This will allow us to offer freshly cooked, personalised meals that cater to individual needs while continuing our focus on whole foods and balanced nutrition.

What the Child Care Subsidy does

The Child Care Subsidy is a government payment that helps reduce the cost of early childhood education and care. It is paid directly to our service, lowering your daily fees based on your family income, activity level, and number of children in care.

Most families are eligible, and CCS makes a significant difference to weekly fees.

Applying for the subsidy

You claim the subsidy yourself through myGov, not through us. It takes about twenty minutes.

Set up a Centrelink account through myGov if you do not already have one, then lodge a Child Care Subsidy claim. You will need your child's birth certificate, their immunisation records, and an estimate of your family income for the year.

Once approved you will receive a Customer Reference Number for yourself and one for your child. Send both to us, confirm your enrolment in Xplor, and the subsidy starts coming off your fees.

Keep your income estimate current. If it drifts, Services Australia reconciles at the end of the financial year and you can end up owing money you had not planned for.

Billing and Payments

To keep things simple and secure, all fees are processed via direct debit, and we only collect bank account details for this transaction.

Fees are billed one week in advance, ensuring your child’s place is always secured and your account remains up to date.

Find out what you would pay

Tell us your child's age and the days you need, and we will give you the rate along with an estimate of your gap once the subsidy is applied.

Call (08) 6113 1442 during opening hours, or send an enquiry and we will come back to you within one business day.
